The story follows a little white dog as he wanders a mysterious forest. We see his old jumper snag on a branch, and watch it gradually unravel to leave him shivering in the cold. At that moment, a door set in the hollow of a tree marked with the number 79, magically opens... a little wink to the Mungo & Maud store at 79 Elizabeth Street, London. Inside, an elderly cat is knitting a Highland Pullover, a soft & cosy merino wool turtleneck, with a small pocket to hold a little treasure or two. The generous cat donates her creation to the shivering little dog. The little dog now joyfully continues his journey in warm comfort and finally comes to celebrate Christmas with his Mungo & Maud friends.
The Enchanted Forest was written & produced by Nicola Sacher, Creative Director & Co-Founder of Mungo & Maud, and is her second project with Japanese animator, Sarina Nihei. Nihei’s refined & minimalist hand drawings perfectly encapsulate the Mungo & Maud universe. The animation not only invites you to discover the brand’s new season clothing & favourite toys, but also to dive into the sweet & playful world of Mungo & Maud and experience a little Christmas magic...
The film is complemented by a virtual fairy tale book, containing excerpts of additional tales and curated gift ideas.
